no joy in cruelty, none in adharma.
Time's noose binds you: say what you like.

Feathered and keen-edged, the arrows
loosed from my bow
shall take your life today, Saumitri,
these enders of life.
A kshatriya in name, ignoble ever,
Rama, most evil-minded,
shall see you, his devoted brother,
this very day, slain by me.

Translation
So saying, he drew to his ear
that arrow that flies straight,
and heroic Lakshmana in battle
loosed it at Indrajit,
joining it to Indra’s weapon,
Lakshmana, slayer of hostile heroes.
That head, with its helmet,
splendid, with blazing earrings,
it struck from Indrajit’s body,
and down to the earth it fell.
The great head of the rakshasa’s son,
severed at the shoulders,
gleaming like gold, was seen on the ground,
bathed in blood.
Slain, he fell swiftly to the earth,
the son of Ravana,
armoured, helmeted, shattered,
his bow with him.
As, when the sun has set,
its rays do not remain,
so, when he had fallen,
the rakshasas fled every way.
