te yadā jñānasaṃpannāḥ sarve samuditā guṇaiḥ

atha rājā daśarathas teṣāṃ dārakriyāṃ prati
cintayām āsa dharmātmā sopādhyāyaḥ sabāndhavaḥ
tasya cintayamānasya mantrimadhye mahātmanaḥ
abhyāgacchan mahātejo viśvāmitro mahāmuniḥ
Translation
When all of them were rich in knowledge,
endowed with every virtue,
modest, and of good repute,
all-knowing, seeing far ahead,
then King Dasharatha
turned his mind to their marriages,
the righteous one, with his preceptors,
together with his kin.
And as the great-souled king was pondering
there among his ministers,
there came, in his great splendour,
Vishvamitra, the great sage.

Worthy of you, tiger among kings,

But the word that is in my heart,
resolve to do that task,

Translation
For he is able, guarded by me
with my own divine power,
to bring destruction even on
the rakshasas who wreak this harm.

of many forms, have no doubt,
by which, in all three worlds,

अस्त्र सीखे हों या नहीं, कोई राक्षस उसका कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ सकेगा। कौशिक उसकी रक्षा करेंगे, जैसे अग्नि अमृत की रक्षा करती है।

Translation
He is dharma in a body,
he is the best of the mighty,
he is foremost in wisdom in the world,
the highest home of austerity.
He knows weapons of every kind
in the three worlds, moving and unmoving;
no other man knows them,
nor shall any come to know.

ये धर्म की मूर्ति हैं, बल और बुद्धि में सबसे आगे। तीनों लोकों के सारे अस्त्र ये जानते हैं, और कोई नहीं जानता।
