What we collect
- No account, name, phone number or email, unless you write to us.
- A random code kept on your device, so we can count unique visitors and tell you how many people your share links brought. It is not linked to who you are.
- The source of the link or QR code you arrived by (for example a Ramlila committee’s code), so we know which partners bring viewers.
- Counts of stories started, finished and shared, through Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics runs without cookies unless you consent.
- Our host, Cloudflare, handles your IP address to deliver and protect the site. We do not store it.
Ads. Once ads are switched on, they appear only outside the Leelas. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com, linked) or at aboutads.info (linked). Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. Ads never appear inside a Leela, over a verse, or while a voice is speaking.
Book links. Our "Read the full Valmiki Ramayana" links go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Your choices. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the random code. Blocking cookies does not stop the Leelas playing.
Children. Raam Leela is for families. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For the little personal data we handle, we are the Data Fiduciary. You can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or erase it, or raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, Amit Gupta, at [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
We date every change at the top of this page.
