Translation
As Manu, of mighty splendour,
was guardian of the world,
so King Dasharatha, dwelling there,
guarded the world.

Translation
Kashyapa has a son,
Vibhandaka, so it is heard;
to him a son will be born,
famed as Rishyashringa.

ever following his father.
लीला
कश्यप के पुत्र विभाण्डक का एक बेटा होगा, ऋष्यशृंग। वन में ही पलेगा। पिता के सिवा किसी को नहीं जानेगा।

Vibhandaka will have a son,
Rishyashringa.
Raised in the forest,
he will know no one but his father.

anāvṛṣṭiḥ sughorā vai sarvabhūtabhayāvahā
Translation
At that very time Lomapada,
full of valour,
will be a renowned king among the Angas,
mighty in strength.
Through that king’s transgression
there will come, most dreadful,
a drought, terrible indeed,
bringing fear to every creature.
लीला
अंग देश में रोमपाद राजा होगा। उसकी एक भूल से ऐसा भयानक सूखा पड़ेगा, कि हर प्राणी डर जाएगा।
Subtitle
Romapada will rule Anga.
Through his fault
a terrible drought will fall,
a terror to all that lives.

उस तपस्वी ने जन्म से कभी कोई स्त्री नहीं देखी थी। गणिकाओं ने उसे मिठाइयाँ दीं। उसने चखीं, और समझा, ये कोई फल हैं।

for having brought him there.
